Quest for Zero
Heart Attacks
CAD Frontiers is an Australian led, international team at the cutting edge of coronary artery disease research and clinical practice expertise.
One Australian suffers a heart attack every nine minutes.
Traditional risk factors such as smoking and diabetes help predict heart attacks. However, about 25% have developed silent coronary artery disease over years and have no risk factor “alarms”.
That's 160 Australians suffering heart attacks every day
Underpinning this is the need to discover new ways of detecting early coronary artery disease.
We have a vision: moving towards zero heart attacks.
If we can detect this plaque early, treatment can prevent
progression and heart attacks are (almost) completely
preventable.
Put simply, no plaque = no heart
attack.
Our research
CAD Frontiers is an Australian led, international team at the

practice.
We’re driving innovation to transform heart attack prevention
across three core research areas:
CORE 01
Identifying blood based biosignatures.
CORE 02
Developing evidence & value-based clinical pathways for early detection of coronary artery disease and prevention of heart attack.
